Limited-edition Box Set of Prints — Carmen at San Francisco Ballet in Yellow & Black

A limited-edition box set of 25 archival pigment prints by photographer Nikolai von Bismarck, captured during the World Premiere of Carmen at San Francisco Ballet. The performance was presented as part of Dos Mujeres, the company’s first-ever double bill featuring works by Latina choreographers.

Captured through von Bismarck's lens, the photographs document Gabriela Hearst's costume design debut for choreographer Arielle Smith's reimagination of Carmen premiered in April 2024, Hearst designed the costumes crafted entirely from merino wool— one of the thinnest, highest-performance natural fibers — dressing the dancers in ribbed sets in vibrant red, sunflower yellow, and black to accentuate the body and enhance movement on stage.

von Bismarck's photography captures the raw physicality and emotional intensity of the production. The box set is designed as a collectible object: each of the four pages with tipped-on prints is perforated at the spine, allowing an individual print to be framed.

Available in three color combinations: red/black, yellow/black, black/red at the New York Beverly Hills and London stores.
